Kindergarten Open House

August 23rd:

Lexie has been so excited for Kindergarten! Today we got to meet her teacher Ms. Lister! We found Lexie's class to be warm and inviting! She found her seat at a round table, with a basket in front of where she will sit. 4 children will be sitting around this table. 2 girls and 2 boys. In her basket was scissors, a large pencil, crayons and a glue stick.
Lexie found her name in several different spots, in her cubby, on a notebook, on this job pencil!
Here is the bulletin board in her classroom.
Lexie hung on to her envelope with all her papers in, and her treat bag while investigating her new room! See the baby bed and blocks in the back ground?
Here is more fun stuff she'll be able to work with!
We found this gem in the library! It's a Lion tent for reading quietly! What a nice school!
We also found out that Kindergartner's get a free breakfast every morning! I couldn't believe it! She will arrive to school around 8:15 and have breakfast with her class. Then start school around 8:45 - school ends around 3:15 in the afternoon.
Tomorrow is her first day, but it's staggered start here, which means she goes tomorrow with only 4 other children from her class. She will have the whole day with the other children and Ms. Lister and Ms. Costa, then she doesn't go back to school until September 4th. At that time she will be there with all the children of her class. This gives the teachers a chance to really work one on one with the kids since they only have 5 a day the whole first week.

Our Lexie girl is growing up, a Kindergartner already! I am sad for her to go, but excited that she will have school finally! She has watched all her friends go off to school before her! Now she can be a big girl too! I love you Lexie Anne!
