October 31 2007: Today was Lexie's first field trip! I was blessed enough to be able to go along! I was also blessed to go to Baa Moo Farms with Lindsay and Kodi
when they were in kindergarten!
I was in charge of this pretty little girl and Lexie. They were so cute together, holding each other's hands as well as mine. The kindergarten rode to the Farm in a huge Chartered bus, and I rode up with a few other Mom's. It was a nice visit!
Our very first Farm activity, was to take the tractor ride. Farmer Calvin showed us his cows. When asked how many he had on his farm, he replied, that he had too many for the weather. We are experiencing a great drought and he can't grow grass for his cows. He also said, in March, he will have run out of hay for them. The drought has caused many

This Texas Long Horn is named "Jake", he is "Tammy Faye's" boy. He is about 10 years old. It was amazing that he walked over when Farmer Calvin called for him! Tammy Faye was busy tending a new calf.
After the wagon ride, we visited the Little Red Kitchen. It is here we learned about the Pie Safe. The pie safe wasn't just for pies, it was for any food you didn't want bugs, animals or kids to get into. We also saw the old lanterns, washing machines and cook stove. It sure made me thankful for electricity and all the modern conveniences we take for granted! Farmer Donna talked to all the Boys and Girls about her Little Red Kitchen, her best advice was:

Next we went over to feed some goats. They were so excited to receive their day old bread! Lexie took her turn, with a little help from Mrs. Lister!
Lexie's kindergarten class all pose for a picture! She was among the tall children Mrs. Lister placed in the back row.
Another Farmer talking to us just before we fed the calf's. These calf's were bought from a Dairy Farmer, who had no use for them because they are male calf's.
Lexie took her turn feeding Joey his bottle! He sure was hungry!
Lexie finally tried to pet a Calf!
Here are the children feeding the chickens. They had each just walked into the Hen house and picked up an egg to put in the Farmer's basket.Just after this, the children took their turned milking "Bessy". Lexie was too frightened to take her turn, so I did it for her.
Hanging out on the fence. The little boy on the end likes Lexie. His Mommy told me all about it! Lexie told him she doesn't like boys! His little heart has been crushed!
Me and my girl!
At the end of our trip, all the children get to pick out their own pumpkin!
What a special day to have with just Lexie! She rode the bus back to school and then I picked her up and took her home! A perfect end to her school day!

A couple of months ago I was in Weis Market looking at the "day old" bread. I was picking out what I wanted when some woman came up and started grabbing all she could get her hands on. She mentioned to a person next to her that she has goats to feed. I was thinking to myself, "Well, I have seven children to feed! Save some bread for me! My children are more important than your dumb goats!" (Sorry Angie!)
Very nice pictures! Good one of you and Lexie! Looks like a nice field trip!
Wow Lexie Anne,
Look like you had a great time on your field trip. I hope Mommy is going to make you a pumkin pie with that pumpkin you picked up. If she doesn't, you just call Grandma, and she will. Love you
