Saturday night at Myrtle Beach Speedway

We got to the track around 5:30, where we enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips, and soda, in the hospitality tent. Rick had worked all day and came over to give us our tickets. I was nervous the whole time, didn't know how the little girls would do with the noise, the length of the race, the stands...

Just before the race you are allowed to go onto pit road and see all the cars and meet the drivers. Once we were on pit road, we crossed over to the garage area and found Rick, who loaded us up with ear plugs and water.
While Rick changed into his fire suit we went back to the team race car. Lindsay is standing with Kaylie against the car looking around. Kodi decided to venture off and collect autographs.
Kodi got Mr. Jeff to stop for a picture of him with his car. We have known Jeff since 1999. It's fun that Rick is helping them right now.
Here we are in the stands, waiting for the race to start. Everyone kept in their ear plugs! We actually made it the whole 250 laps. At one point Jeff lead about 65 laps, it was so exciting. We were sitting with his wife Angel and his daughter Carlie.

Jeff finished second and we were so happy. We eventually made it to the pit area after the race. Rick was busy loading the truck, while the team took the car to post race inspection. All the wives hung out on the pit road wall and the kids played kick the can with all the empty soda cans laying around. Kodi helped load the truck. Post race inspection proved to be tough, it seems the series wasn't happy with a part on Jeff's car, he was disqualified! We were all so disappointed. But we did have a great night. It was so fun for the kids to see what Daddy does. We all got to ride in the hauler out of the track where Rick parked the truck for the night. Then we got in the van and headed back to the hotel, arriving there at 1:30am! I was so thankful in the morning that I had packed the day before. Leaving was a sinch!
