Mooresville Holiday Parade

November 21, 2006: A tradition we have since moving to North Carolina is to attend the Mooresville Holiday Parade.
How can you not attend, the entire town shuts
down on the Tuesday afternoon before Thanksgiving for the event.

Kids always get out of school early so they can be to their parade floats in time. Kodi was in the parade this year with his scout troup from Church, go Brother Gray!!

It all started off nice, we found our friends Sherry, Kelsey, Ruth and Rowen Jackson and then we waited for the parade. Not long after is began, rain started! At one point Lexie had to go to the bathroom. Lindsay and Keslsey set out to help Lexie. When they returned, they were soaked. The rain continued to fall, harder, the wind picked up, it was becoming unbearable. Needless to say, whe Kodi's float neared us, I told Lindsay to yank our soaking wet Kodi from the float, that we were going home. And so we did! The weather may be ugly, parking hard to come by, the anxiety I feel when finding parking is enough to give me a stroke, and yet I can't miss this parade! Maybe next year we can stay for the whole thing!
